Last time I had one of those it was called "Zoom" and the wrapper contained a picture card similar to cigarette cards.

A busy day. Strimmed the edges of all the grassy areas but left them long with the heatwave forecast. I treated the "Meadow" with Lawn weedkiller and I will cut it next Wednesday.
We planted some Lavender, tied in some climbing roses, removed mesh from around the young trees (our visiting rabbit was found dead in a neighbour's garden) and watered and fed hanging baskets.

Watering in prep for the upcoming warm weather and deadheading. The roses I bought (bare root) are flowering now and there's not a white one out of the supposedly 3 Rose Polo I bought. I've contacted the company today and sent photos and got a full refund. They said they must have been mislabelled during dispatch. So I have no clue what I have but they are pink :dunno:

@Loofah it's a little annoying isn't it as I had a plan what I wanted the border to look like. Trouble is the roses are doing well but each time I look I can't help being a little deflated. Did you keep yours?

I did! It was a gorgeous yellow climber called 'chris', it looked good and smelled good so I grew it over an arch. Previous house though and like an idiot I forgot to take a cutting before leaving.
They sent a replacement of the correct rose too so it worked out, luckily it arrived in time as the one I'd ordered was for a memorial

Sitting in a chair in the garden slowly emptying the fridge :roflol:

I'll probably watch the tennis this afternoon.
I have a tv in the conservatory and I tend to leave it on and pop in and out.
                    Can't miss this weather.:ccheers:

Yes, there are lots more round the garden. I need to clear this area for new planting, it's been neglected for years.

Spent almost the whole day watering the entire garden with the hose. Absolutely soaked every square inch of dry earth. It was dry again within an hour (at least the surface was). I then set the sprinkler up on the Meadow and let it soak the grass and the shrubbery for a couple of hours. May as well make the most of the hose before they put a ban in place.
