Trimmed back the Lavender this morning and checked on a particular Dahlia that the blackfly seem to love! No sooner than I've turned my back from cleaning them off...they're back with reinforcements!!!

I've just picked a load more beans and courgettes and cut back the long runners on the squash plants. I also was putting up our big gazebo (20' x 10') in a garden for our casual supper social for our bridge club in someone else's garden. Club supplies booze, members supply food and I volunteered to do canapes (sounds posh) :). I've made chicken liver pate (will put it on crackers) and smoked salmon blinis. Easy to do and looks good. :blue thumb:

Our ground is so very dry I think all the ants are above ground and on all our plants!!

You could put down some polenta or it's called cornmeal, the ants will eat it and take it to the nest and it will kill them.

Had a bonfire yesterday, first time in years I've had the bare ground to burn anything, but as half the the veg plot is empty and too dry to sow green manure. Got rid of the pile of stuff I was going to shred and had was bone dry. Kept it small and made sure it was out before calling it a day.

We were out preparing planters for the imminent arrival of our spring bulbs. Moved some plants between planters because the boss likes to have her planters "matching".

I've been repotting some cuttings - Spider plants and cacti, succulents, more succulents ... I'm running out of room for them all.

My spring bulbs arrived yesterday, i took the bags of bulbs out of the box and put them on trays and left them in the garage until I'm ready to plant them.

@Perki Hope you get better soon. When I was 70 I was offered a vaccine injection for Shingles which I had done. This year my wife was also offered the injection which she had done as well. Before I was offered the injection I had no idea there was one!
