So when are you planning on doing that? They shouldn't be left out very long or they will start to dry out & you may lose your spring flowers.

    BTW, what did you buy?

Having had a couple of our grandkids on Friday & then having a sleepover I wasn't able to do practically anything on the balcony till Saturday night when I watered most of the plants on the balcony. But I only gave them a little as I intended to give them a deeper watering on Sunday, which is what I did today.

During this last week my son was on holiday with his family & I went up 4 days to water his plants. As he lives in a rented house he grows everything in pots - like I do on the balcony. Fortunately the week cooled down a bit from the previous week so instead of having to walk to his house to water every day I only needed to go every other day!

It took me about 3/4 hour each time with many, many trips backwards & forwards, up & down the garden with a 7lt watering can! Almost as bad as when I water my plants on the balcony!:rolleyespink:

So I got a bit more exercise this week than normal! :heehee:

Trimmed the straggly bits on the hedge before the rain stopped play.

I repotted an Aphelandra, it was sooo pot-bound in the pot I bought it last year. I didn't realise I'd run out of the compost I was going to use so I used a peat free one with seaweed extract (a neighbour told me it was good so I bought some to try)
Also repotted two Pilea peperomioides and a cactus.
Pilea peperomioides had several underground shoots ready to emerge and make the plants look a bit fuller :yay:

Measured. Yes, that's it. I have decided I want to change where the wood pile is, where the raised garden is and where the storage bins are located. And everyone knows that takes a lot of measuring and planning. The three things are part of a 9' x 20' area of the back left corner of my little yard. And this will probably be a record for all of my province. It will be the 6th time I will have moved it. Talk about fickle!

Pruned the apple and pear super column trees. Cut back the ivy that's growing over our back wall from the other side. Put all the cuttings on the ground to bag up tomorrow, picked some more blackberries.

Planted 20 odd elephant garlics. Last years cloves, so 12 months old.
Will either let them grow on or use them as garlic leeks depending on growth rates.

We stripped down three hanging baskets and planted the perennials from them in troughs until they can go into their permanent positions. I took delivery of a compost bin today so we assembled that and started to fill it. The rest of the time was wandering around planning possible plant relocations.

Just been hanging some of the cold frame covers and such on the side fence to tidy up a bit.

I have moved and stacked the concrete slabs (24" x 30" x 2"- heavy things!) at the back corner which is out of sight of the kitchen windows and mounted the solar panels above the slabs in two tiers. I moved the greenhouses on the side deck 9 inches toward the back garden to make space for the wood pile but after seeing just how much everything looks after moving the panels, I moved some green wheelie bins to that new space instead. These are really meant for food recycle but I find them dandy for storage in the garden as they are only 15"x15" x 28"tall and just the right size to fit in nooks.

So moving the L shaped raised bed won't be happening now however the boards are starting to wow out as the soil pushes at them so I will need to remove some and spread it around to other gardens!

And I deadheaded all of my dahlias now that I know they won't be giving me any seeds.

I've been slowly carrying the light weight concrete blocks I bought to where my cold frames are going to be. I'm using the blocks to raise the frames up from the ground to save me bending.
It's a slow process, because although they are very light it's a hot day so I can only do a few at a time.
