It stands on the soil to allow worms in. After watching an Eden project video I ordered a Compost aerator which pushes down from the top and then opens out as you pull it back up.

I once had a fellow tell me he is only afraid of a few women and somehow I got on that list...

I am delighted to say that I collected lots of seeds and also examined the weed. Some of the flowers are showing violet plumage. Should be an interesting crop.

Thanks, @infradig for that link but it's a site I have used for many years! I didn't get to see it after all as by the time I checked the times it was too late; I missed it by about 15 mins! I had their app on my old mobile phone but when I got a new one in May this year I forgot to reinstall it. It was useful because you could set an alarm to ring to warn you when it was nearly time to see it from your locality. I shall have to download it again!

All I've been able to do for a while is cut some things back, the garden is in a mess because I was having a small extension built.
Now I'm having a greenhouse built so there's still a mess :frown:

At long last I've been able to plant out the Pansies my son brought me a week ago! I spent a couple of hours on the balcony planting them in the troughs on the balcony railings. While I was at it I also took some Geranium cutting for the winter. I'm going to get rid of a lot of them as they are old plants now & though they continue to flower they are past by their "use by" date! I want to have some "new blood" for next year.

Well, as usual, I ended up doing something I was not planning on doing.

I patched some sections of lawn this morning. Not sure if the problem was animals or drainage, but I had 2 small patches of grass that had died off. So, dug down, replaced the soil, added some compost and grass seed. It is due to rain on Thursday, so hopefully, the forecast will be right.

Then........ I ended up turning over the smallish veggie plot that I have been creating this year for use from next. I had added some manure a few weeks back and thought it was time to give it a bit of a turn to bury exposed manure. And, some deadheading. There is always deadheading to do.

So, that was mostly unexpected, but hey-ho!
