Definitely not! Apart from having had a sonic boom a few years ago this one had the usual rolling thunder afterwards and torrential rain. :noidea:

We haven't had any thunder or lighting here. Just a downpour & some strong winds. Today only did some watering of plants that had been in the mini-greenhouse or on the shelving on the wall at the far end of the balcony from the door.

Yesterday I put up a shelving unit we took out of the living room a few years ago. I had dismantled it & put it in the far corner of the balcony.

I actually added some kitchen bits to the compost heap, aerated it and watered it with accelerator.

Yesterday tied up some more blackberries and today trimmed back 3 redcurrants, going to dig them up and put a deciduous Azaleas in their place. Behind the pots.

I was very busy on the balcony on Tuesday! I put up a shelving unit we used to have in our living room but which we took down about 3 years ago. I took the unit down & put in a corner of the balcony until today. I decided I needed to get it put back together once again so I could put the Pelargoniums in for the winter. I've now filled it up with Pelargoniums & Geraniums mostly.

I also took & put in small pots in a couple of seedtrays some Pelargonium & Fuchsia cuttings.

I did absolutely nothing out there apart from laugh at the two ducks swimming in our driveway. The top end of the driveway was flooded, as was the road and I guess it was just over 4" deep. The nearest pond is something over half a mile away but we occasionally get ducks visiting the back garden. They must have been out for a bit of exercise. :heehee:

Friends were popping in to pick up windfall apples that came down in the gale a couple of days ago. We still have about 80lb left with more friends and neighbours coming for their share. We're not bulk cooking them as our two freezers are now full.

As we have quite a few people here on a course tomorrow Mrs Shiney is going to make gluten free apple cake for dessert using ground up oats that I do in the blender. It will be sweetened with xylitol (made from birch bark) so it will be OK for both gluten free people and diabetics. :blue thumb:

Today I went out and gave the Dahlias a top dressing of straw. I do not intend to lift them. I cut down the Morning Glory, picked the last of the apples and tipped a hanging basket of Nasturtiums out into a corner of the garden. They can sink or swim.

Haven't done much just put the bubble wrap on the doors of the small growhouse. Contemplating on putting the hanging baskets in the growhouse, the fuchsias will be ok but the geraniums won't.

Started getting some of the bigger pots under cover, they as totally soaking and I'd like them to dry out to some extent before we get any cold weather.
Still got lots more to move but made a start.
Will have to get going on the Strelitzia winter cover soon, maybe next week.
