WHAT ARE WE DOING IN THE GARDEN TODAY - 2022

Thank you all for your best wishes for my wife. The doctors were happy after her first revision & now I have to put dozens of drops in her eyes every day till the end of the year at the very least! She has an appointment this week at the eye clinic in our local hospital, so hoping everything is fine.

 

It's good to hear she's on the mend @Balc.

Another day without being able to do anything outside on the balcony due to rain for most of the day. All I was able to do was to move the pots that are up against the balcony railings further into the balcony so they don't get so wet! That left me with hardly any room to move outside but it is also dangerous with the pigeon poo on the floor as when it is wet it becomes very slippery!

 

Reading the label? Checking the condition of the bulbs? That's a tall order when eyes are zoomed into a large sign saying "Reduced to clear"

 

Quite pleased today as I'm able to get going on my annual autumn cut back of trees and shrubs, most have grown really well this year and enjoy the heat.
Really pleased as I ventured back up a ladder again after the knee op, just wish the other knee was as pain free as the new one.

 

@pete that's good news that your new knee is doing well, perhaps you could have the other one done.

 

Nothing today it's raining.

 

I have to wait 3 months before my GP can refer me for the other one.
I'll wait till after Christmas, but I think the waiting list has now got longer.

I can say I've been able to plant up the Mini-Daffs & the Hyacinths at long last!!! As we had a lot of sunshine & the balcony was now dry &, after sweeping away the pigeon droppings, I got on with moving the pots back to their original positions at the front of the balcony up against the railings. That gave me more room to move around!

I filled up a pot with compost & planted the Mini-Daffs first of all. After I had put the bulbs in I planted the Pansies that have been waiting on the balcony table over the top of them. I did the same weeks ago when I planted up other pots of bulbs. When I finished with that I went to do the same with the Hyacinths but I didn't have any more deep pots! I was sure I had at least two but I only had the one! I searched around the balcony but could only find one big clay half pot! As there was nothing growing in the very dry compost I emptied it out, put a little back in & put the Hyacinths in next. After I had covered them with the remaining compost I planted the last tray of Pansies over the top of the bulbs.
