I'll be doing my usual, sit in the sun, spot something that needs doing, get up and do it, sit back down, spot something else that needs doing, and so it continues.
I rarely have a plan these days.

Yep and ours too.:) We're just sitting out having tea in the garden and hubs has suddenly gone, armed with a bucket and little digger thingy vacating Dandelions from their self selected home in our lawns.
              He's a man on a mission!!

Just came in. I threw some Dorotheanthus bellidiformis 'Livingstone Daisy' seeds in a planter on the Dining Patio. I can't say I planted them ... I just threw them on the soil! I have more to do later in a pot on the Front Patio. They are Orange/Pink on the packet. I sat on the bench in The Courtyard for a bit but it was too hot in full Southern sun. Will go out again later.

Just been weeding another path and another shingled area but finding it also too hot as we lack shade in the afternoon, so just having a bit of a breather before embarking on round 2. 20220416_150056.jpg 20220416_150004.jpg

Mowed the lawns, knocked down a wobbly wall and cleaned off the bricks ready for rebuild. This afternoon I thought I'd spend 5 mins weeding the strawberry and soft fruit patch... Some hours later and it's about done!

Not in my garden, went to see my friend and ended up clearing her back garden of bracken and did some pruning, going to get some hardy geraniums out of my garden for her's.One reason is she has a bad arm and shoulder blade. But I enjoyed it and I get to cut plants back without hubby being around and getting nervous of what i do.:heehee:

Oh Upsy, I could not be doing that weeding in gravel! Ben the Gardener uses something on ours that kills it but is safe for cats after an hour or so. Need him to come do it in the next couple of weeks before the builders arrive. I am also going to lose my beautiful Hibbertia scandens to the builders as the beams are being removed. :cry3: :cry3:

Good for you Logan to get out and about helping your friend. Does she live near you?

I went back out and was horrified to discover one Hibiscus with sticky holes in the leaves and one Brugmansia with lots of holes. De-leafed both and sprayed with water with washing up liquid and a splash of hydrogen peroxide, These plants were on two different patios. I hope I have caught them in time. Sadly T'other Half doesn't notice such to tell me. :cry3:

In view of the likely hike in prices for veg this year, today I Planted 100 brown onion sets and 75 red onion sets. I’ll sell any surplus and make a huge profit and will then bank this in the Cayman Islands or Virgin islands. I did have slight reservations about the ethics, but PM and Chancellor have given me the nod.
I also painted the gable end of one of our sheds with preservative paint. Sweet pea planting is on the job sheet for tomorrow.

Thank you Victoria yes she's local, about a ten minute walk away.
Shame about your plants and hope that you got it just in time.
Why are you removing the beams? Such a lovely plant.

I quite like this job Vicky and the weeds are far and few between as we don't let them get out of control. There is membrane under the shingled areas so the weeds are only on the surface trying desperately to root themselves in the stones . The seeds blow over from fields where the horses graze, you can see them in the air! I find I gain a great sense of achievement looking back and seeing a nice clear path.. The only problem about using weed killer is that you're left , for a while, with wilting dying weeds and I don't like it. I'm too impatient and want a neat and tidy result straightaway. My Dad's patio use to look awful for about a week after his gardeners sprayed it. No I really prefer to set aside a day to get it done and dusted!:)

That's a real shame though Vicky, will you really have to lose it, or could you maybe get away with cutting it back enough to free the beams up ?
Fingers crossed you've zapped the nasty critters in time before they cause too much damage.:fingers crossed::fingers crossed:
