The house belonged to my mother-in-law, who passed away a year ago. We moved in last summer and more or less started the garden from scratch. There was grass and a few old shrubs. Our present shrubbery was cut from grass. The turf was lifted and then it was rotovated twice before we started planting.
"My garden", the damp, shady, weedy bit my better half didn't want had a couple of roses, a Hydrangea and an old apple tree. I must have put the best part of 100 plants in it.

I was going to give the bacopa cuttings an airing today but to much heavy rain. Noticed since i started taking cuttings i get a much bigger stronger plant.

Mowed the lawn and did the edging, planted out some Cannas, potted up a weigela and a few other plants. Did buckets and buckets of weeding, pulled out most of the forget me nots and grabbed bunches of bluebells (they multiply way too quickly!).
I also got pooed on by a particularly smug pigeon

Yesterday cut in half the toilet roll tubes to start my wallflower seeds next week, got 300 so far but i'll do 500, never end up with 500 plants that's why i do so many.

2 of those trays have got holes in the bottom, when I did the marigolds i didn't know about that and the water went through onto the paper that i had them on, it could have been a disaster.

            Oh gosh @Logan!!:yikes:
I just leave mine in and only sow a few to replace any that have got too old or woody. They keep their leaves and add a backdrop to the border. If you're short on space you can pot them up for replanting next year, I think they are better in their 2nd year ( added bonus!:dbgrtmb:).
            Save yourself from extra work!

:yikes: That is a lot of toilet paper if you do it every year ... or do you use paper towels rolls as well?

Thank you @Upsydaisy I've tried keeping the old plants but some die and spoil the look that I want and I've tried digging them up but just the same. Also I like to plant the marigolds in their place, but I enjoy doing it.
Thank you @Victoria I have 2 friends who save the rolls for me and yes I use the kitchen towel rolls as well but I don't always use them unless i run out of the others.

OK, just trying to save you a bit time @Logan .

I've actually been cutting mine back a bit today as they have so many side shoots emerging.
Also removed the Hellibore seed heads, leaving just a couple on some of them to run to seed.

                    20220505_120913.jpg
Gave all the seedlings/ young plants a feed, also the Blueberrys, Citrus and Strawberries as well.

Dug up 2 lupins that had died and planted some Californian poppy seedlings in there place and did a lot of weeding around that area.
