@Logan I just cut off the non flowers shoots and pot up. I sometimes use rooting compound ,if I have any, but I have found it doesn't really make a difference.

This is the first lot I took last month, they have buds now and some have even flowered but they won't go out in the borders until Autumn. 20220511_093131.jpg

And these I did yesterday, I cover them as you can see with a cut off bottle for a couple of weeks until they recover from the shock :)

    20220511_093356.jpg

I should get about 30 ,which as I said earlier I probably won't need as this year all the ones out in the border are looking good. Some are now in their 4th year.

I wonder how long it will be before they start mentioning hosepipe bans?

Scarified a bit of lawn and adjusted roller before mowing all lawns. I was just going to run over the scarified bit but it looked ridiculous so had to do everything :(

They have already started talking about a water shortage in Fife and Perthshire and Scottish Water is talking with industry about means of saving water.

Today we were out watering containers The boss planted up some Petunias and Fuchsias in tubs and I planted out the last of my pot-grown Morning Glory, into my dedicated home-built planter.

As we are a hot, breathless day, I went out 11-ish and had T'other Half bring all my little pots of things I am nuturing from the granite slab in The Courtyard which is a furnace to the Front of House Patio where I sit so I can monitor things. This is my Nursery :heehee:

Between the Hibiscus rosa-sinenss pots are a Hibiscus Syriacus Double Purple, a seeded Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, a seeded Brugmansia, a Yellow Beloperone guttata (Shrimp Plant), a succulent possibly Aeonium, and Munch's head and my knee! The strappy leafed plant second left are my slow-growing Cyrtanthus elatus, Valottas/Scarborough Lillies ...

                  Nursery Pots2 11 May 22.jpg

Dotted around here between other pots I have a Peach Oleander, a Tamarillo, a Pentas, a Hamelia patens, Verbena seed and Portulaca seed Adam Ant is tending to ...

I could only find 7 non-flowering shoots on my many wallflowers. So these are now the subject of experiment, protected by deep upside-down salad pot. I shall still sow seeds anyway as most of my wallflower plants are now elderly and rather woody, I've not started on the chopping back yet.

No worries if you can't find any non flowering ones, if I can't I just nip the blooms/ buds off.:blue thumb:

I took delivery of 72 perennial Postplugs so I spent most of the afternoon potting them up into larger trays. Added a little water-retaining gel, a layer of compost then some Rootgrow in the bottom of each compartment. My back was sore by the time I finished, leaning over the bench.
