I would liked to have finished this project this weekend. I decided that the planters I bought weren't deep enough so I cobbled 2 together. It looks a lot better that way and more sturdy. The trellis I added myself. I have all the bits for a second one but now I am going to have to wait for a new planter to be constructed. Once completed, the 2 of them will stand side by side along the side of the house. They will be in full sun from lunchtime onwards. They will also be totally exposed to high winds and rain. I will need to find a climbing plant that will cover the trellis (3ft x 6ft) but not run wild. Also, as the planters are freestanding, I will need the trellis to support the weight of the plant . It would also be nice to be able to plant annuals or alpine to soften the edges and add colour and texture to the planter.

Very nice @Jack Sparrow I'm currently working through hide it corner and have found some composite decking pieces so I'm thinking of doing something similar with that.

On closer inspection, I might be better off growing climbing annuals like sweetpeas or black eyed Susan.

Another whole day in the garden planting out. Unfortunately with my knee still on the dodgy side after the surgery everything I do seems to take forever.

Did two more borders today and have 8 left. Getting there slowly but surely.:dbgrtmb:

Didn't do much in the way of gardening. We watered a lot of the containers and the trees then we planted up some more Petunias and Rudbeckia. We did spend time choosing and ordering more Tulips for next year (we need more Tulips like a hole in the head). The boss was choosing and I was ordering.

You have been very busy! But you may have trouble later getting much from the Sweetcorn as you have planted them in rows when I believe they should be planted in blocks. They are wind pollinated & being in blocks allows the pollen to fall from the male flowers onto the female flowers to fertilize them & produce cobs.

I grew them some years ago on an allotment I had & planting them in blocks gave good results.

I bought some plants last Friday, my son took me to a plant nursery where I bought 9 Calibrachoas for £14.99 as well as some Fuchsias & Lobelias. Later that same evening I planted them up in some hanging baskets. These baskets are at the back of the balcony, close up to the windows. They will stay there for about a week before I move them to the front over the railings. I did the same last year & got excellent results!

I don't have any photos on this laptop as I transferred all of them from my mobile phone to my desktop computer. But having some problems with it today hence using the laptop.

In the past I have always arranged my own hanging baskets. This year I am planning to buy the baskets already made up and transfer everything to my baskets. I find choosing plants very stressful.

You can always run a brush through the tassles and cross pollinate manually

@Nikolaos Its coming on now has that border grown ? it looks bigger than I remember, is that a Actaea at the back . The cirsium and the veronicastrum will like have a wrestling match in a couple of years depending on variety of the veronicastrum . I struggle with Black adder never quite sure it will return I do like the plant though,. I do have A.blue fortune which is more reliable but I am having problems with that now slugs chew the new shouts on agastaches . Other than that they are easy plants well worth their place in the garden.

Mowed the lawn today and knocked up a few baskets. Had a round tour down town notice some trailing begonias tray of 4 for a quid so picked a couple of them up . Potted up a salvia confertiflora cutting and messed around with a few plants in the GH nipping shoots out and that , I am sick to death of aphids this year they are everywhere .
