We have had 1 hour all day without rain so I sprung into action and potted up the Rudbeckia marmalade seedlings.
Checked that the fledgling wood pigeon had gone from the back patio. (I had accidentally locked it in the greenhouse the night before)

Cleaned and filled up the bird feeders.
      All in an hour :phew:

In and out like a yoyo today trying not to get soaked by thunderous heavy showers. Still managed to get some plants into the borders though. Planted out some Snapdragons ( miniature container ones) Cosmos, Pelargoniums, Dahlias and some Oenothera Sunset Boulevard.
At least they got watered in well :heehee:

At last I got one of my three lawns mowed today. With so much rain recently it needed a double mowing with parts of it 6 inches high. As soon as they hear the mower my neigh-bours stand and wait at the fence for the grass cuttings....

There's a little Shetland in the field too but I couldn't get an image of him.

I only put the grass cuttings over if the horses are at the fence. They have to be freshly mowed or they will give them colic.

Not much recently I did divide a osmunda fern to plant in the bog garden the other day, thinking about that I did quite a bit on Sunday moving plants around I shouldn't really be moving. I want to do my summer pots but I am going on holiday next week ( or not Manchester airport :hate-shocked: ) I've got my mum coming round to tend to the plants which I think might be easier if they are all together in the GH :noidea: , I'll see I might start itching to do something by the weekend.

What wonderful neighbours to have @Sheal

I decided to be ruthless yesterday (for a few minutes) and got rid of two clumps of Michaelmas Daisies. They never flower until the end of September and as soon as it rains they turn into a brown mush :frown: ... so I thought I could put something better there.
I've still got some in a pot so will be able to see the lovely flowers again when they open - I'll put them in some shelter.

I think that's the end of my ruthlessness for now, I don't usually like getting rid of plants.

Other than that I'm just pottering :yay:

Started planting out the pot marigolds around the path in the front garden, even though it rained well the ground is still dry.

While the CEO planted out Aubretia I started back hand-weeding the shrubbery. Thanks to the next-door neighbour whose garden is a wilderness, it turns out to be a never-ending task.

Figuring out which perennial seedlings to pot on to stay in pots or plant out and then I am going to place the ones getting planted out, onto the spot I'm thinking of. I like to visualize before I plant. Sometimes it works. And sometimes it doesn't. I can't remember how many times I moved the poor things in the past!

I've got to fix one of the side gate mounts. It is coming out of the house brick. Got the wrench out and will stare at them for awhile before I tackle the job
