I've had a play out today in the garden today even with the rain . Mowed lawn late yesterday while it were dry its to wet to walk on today really . Lots of salvia cutting today done after loses all the large plants last winter hopefully they'll take :fingers crossed: and Penstemon garnet which I lose every winter . Chopped up a large Salvia Smouldering torches to get more plants, a plant I don't need I've got plenty already :rolleyespink: I do ask myself why sometimes I can't help myself :) . Deadheaded the dahlias as well

Making planning for moving plants which I am itching to do now and ordered some more plants , I collected a few at weekend 2x Actaea Queen of sheba and a Sanguisorba Canadensis and a Clematis Sweet summer Love arrived for the pergola .

We've been away for a week and not had much time yet to catch up on things. We have had friends pop in every day to do the watering of pots under cover, in the greenhouse and in the nursery areas - which takes about an hour with the hose. Apparently next door's cat has decided to claim squatters' rights on one of the shelves in the greenhouse and has been there every day. He wasn't there today when I went out there. :phew:

All the beans have finished whilst we were away and I've started removing them. I've done a hundred plants so far. It took an hour to do that as I have to cut all the strings tying the canes and cross supports, cut down 50m of overhead strings for growing them like vines, snip off the plants at ground level (the bending for that is the hardest job for me), pull the canes out and and slide them, with difficulty out of the mass of plant. Then stuff them all into the wheelie bins. Another 100 to do tomorrow.

Then I took a dozen Irishmen's cuttings of Annabelle and potted them up as they had been ordered by gardening club members.

Mrs Shiney harvested 15lb of tomatoes and the last of the courgettes - I think. Hundreds of windfall apples to be picked up but I can't do that job.

Just having a welcome coffee after the grand raspberry clearout. Most of the plants have turned out spiny, despite claims on the labels to the contrary, so they've gone on the bonfire heap and the ground prepared for something else. It's a bit of a dilemma what to plant in the way of soft fruit, though, as the moorhens who live in the agrilac pop over to raid whatever is planted. Kiwi fruit is looking favourite :)

Thank you Victoria! :) I like botanical/exotic looking plants. Although, I can’t say there’s any flower that I dislike. As I believe every plant will look good in the right location wether it’s a wild or an ornamental setting. But personally, I’m looking to have a lower maintenance approach for now as my job consists of long hours. A few plants that come to mind that I like are alliums, crocosmia, cordylines, palms, heather, fatsia japonica, French lavender, verbena, dahlia, gladioli, bracken. I’m hoping to sit down and make a plan of which plants to chose that will work well together. But I realise there are some challenges when it comes to placement with different heights of plants, colours etc…

what about you? What’s your gardening style?

                      Hi again.

I live in Algarve, Portugal so tropical/exotic is my thing ... which is low maintenance and drought tolerant for the most part as we don't get much rain down here! I particularly like Hibiscus rosa-sinensis and have six in the ground and seven in pots.

I guess you will have some struggles in Scotland, whether you are East, West or Central. However we have many folk here from there.

Go introduce yourself and it is best if you put your photos up full size.

aww I’ve only been to Portugal twice and once was in algarve! It was a beautiful experience. That’s lovey, yes the weather here is horrible for the most part but we have to just get on with it haha!
Okay I will do! What do you mean by post the photos in full size? Thank you
