@Logan thank you for sharing the link to the video. I watched it and several others - on topics I'm keen with, it is addictive!

Now that I've seen that and one about fritillaria bulb planting, I think I need to dump out the pot I had planted that bulb in because I vaguely remember, maybe, possibly having planted it on it's side but now I am doubting myself. I'm the curious kind so I'll find out for sure if it is rooting or rotting!

I'm not worried about PBR/PVR people bothering me. I would not be selling plants and I doubt they'd be at my front door with a battering ram to gain entrance and expect my plants. :paladin:

Surely plant breeders rights only apply to plants grown vegatively not hybrids grown from seed.

I think gardeners will always propagate and distribute plants regardless of PBR, it's what we do!

I've pruned some cornus and taken cuttings... I've also started making a bit of effort on glazing the greenhouse. After holding a few things up and figuring how to attach things, heights and clearances etc I spent the remainder of my free time making tiny clips and drilling small holes in them. I really should have figured this out in detail by now but no point rushing

Re: PBR - this has changed hasn't it? It used to be that you could only be stopped from commercial gain by selling propagated PBR plants. Now it reads as if I could get sued for a plant layering itself or bulbs multiplying!

                    Relax
Relax , its unlikely to happen to you. Best not plant them too deep!, or pin them down with hair-grips; as if we would.

I'm probably a bit of a sado but I've never been keen on Surfinias, just too much flower and not enough leaf.
Almost look unreal, I prefer a balance between foliage and flower.

The Fuchsia I'm training to be a standard is growing vigorously now & this morning I removed all sideshoots so as to concentrate its energies in to growing taller - I want a clear truck of 1m (3ft) before I start to train the head. The sideshoots have now become cuttings for future plants. It's called 'Garden News'.

Done the neighbour ridiculously tall hedge today I had a bit of time after that so had a wonder round the garden . Things are starting to grow :hapydancsmil: but so are the weeds :wallbanging: so I set into them they weren't to many, moved a Dicentra / lamprocapous what ever its called now further back in the border it makes hell of a gap in the border by mid summer hopefully it not be as noticeable now .

Dug up a clump of allium purple rain to make room for lupin chopped alliums in half and planted one half and planted the rest round in mum garden , sadly the lupin is a goner  so now I've got a temporary new space. Could replace with a new lupin or plant one of the million plants I've hanging around in pots  naa I'll find something new I've not grown before or put one of the dahlias in there for this year.
