rained this morning but brightened up around dinner time so ventured outside and did a few jobs . Removed Helianthus Lemon queen from the garden except from behind GH seen as it gets tall enough to per over the fence , got quite a lot of divisions so planted 5-6 clumps around on the garage site / next to compost heap , potted / bagged the rest up to give away . Its a nice plant but it doesn't half grow its a bit of a thug , it terrible for splaying out leaning on my acer and everything around it .
DSC03237.JPG they is a acer in that pic ( bottom left ) . Them Acontiums royal flush are getting removed as well when I get round to it.

I've replace the helianthus with Acontium Stainless Steel and potted another clump up. It come on raining while doing this so back inside . A.s.steel as come from another border think I may try one the big salvia's in there did have Salvia Concolor in pot but I think its dead so may try Atrocyanea instead

I have been chucking some of it outside the balcony onto the grass - but there's only so much I can throw out like that! :rolleyespink:

I wondered what you were on about at first!:biggrin: Then it suddenly came back to mind where the guys put sand in their trouser legs & then spread it over their play area right under the noses of their captors!

Are you suggesting I do something similar??? :rolleyespink::scratch::roflol:

I sowed half a pkt of African Marigolds in a seedtray today but a few days ago I also sowed half a pkt of Calendulas. So this is my, tiny, contribution to the seed sowing efforts of gardeners all over the country! In a few weeks time I will be sowing lots more but there is very little space on the balcony for the seedtrays & even less for growing on of the resultant seedlings!

I've been emptying the compost out of a couple of big black plastic hanging baskets on the balcony today then I filled them up with new compost but I've nothing to plant in them for a couple of months! I also need to buy more compost as I've run out & didn't have enough to fill one of the baskets.

I received my Oenothera seeds and will be making soil blocks for them. They are almost the same colour as my plastic pink flamingos and if they germinate/thrive, I will plant them all around and under the silly birds. Whimsey... :)
