I'd resent sowing sage from seed! There's always a plant to break a bit off and it roots so easily.
I had to look agretti up

Busy morning in the greenhouse, seedlings are romping away now and looking good. Pricking out and potting on is the main job of the moment at this point in time. :dbgrtmb:

More of the same for this afternoon, fast running out of space in the one half of the greenhouse that is the bubble wrapped enclosure!!

I continued to do lawn edges and trying my best to weed the first 12" into the beds. They are crammed with weeds and plants.

I've been digging out daisies, buttercups, strawberry weed, lots of very tough fine grass growing in the masses of Alchemilla mollis and almost impossible to dig through the Alchemilla, moss and lots of other weeds. I've filled a wheelie bin with them and am still trying to straighten up

Very little gardening wise; scattered some fennel seeds and did a bit more glazing on the greenhouse

Pruned a couple of buddleja, found a couple of shrubs that are deceased (combination of drought followed by cold winter winds), trimmed a few dead bits off survivors. Planted onion sets then weeding.

Agretti are nice plants and apparently very posh and gourmet. We grew it one summer and ate a handful and then promptly forgot to eat the rest. Not overly impressed, but it's always fun to try something new :) This year for Selleri household the fun trial is Okahijiki

Anyways, I woke up at 6.30, ready for a wonderful day out in the garden, enjoying a break from the cold blast. In the end, I have been sitting by the dining table, reading a book, briefly interrupted by a round of Carcassonne and lunch, admiring the mellow day through the french window. :noidea:

Managed to trim the lawn edge and transplant the trimmings into the gaps elsewhere, just enough toil to make a huge difference and to get my fingernails into a state. Seen that my alter ego inhabits between Monday and Friday an environment full of crisp blouses and immaculate pencil skirts I might need to do something about it. Thank goodness for dark nail polish!

I trimmed back the six Mandevilla on the raised patio out front to about half, also the Photinia and the couple of small Brugmasias (a Pink and a Red/White stripe I got last year which has not bloomed yet).

Picked up a few shallot and onion sets as my onion seedlings are not looking too healthy. Planted my broad beans under fleece as they were getting root bound in the modules

It's been blowing a gale here today and persistantly pouring so nothing done apart from a peak at my Nagas in the Greenhouse...
Did chop down 2 large holly trees over the weekend and had previously chopped down to huge conifers. It was a shame as they looked nice but were shading the lawn too much leaving it constantly sodden..Need a new fence now as the conifers hid it so ready to revamp a North facing border..looking forward to it.

I wasn't able to do anything other than watering a couple of seedtrays & "battening down" the mini-greenhouse on the balcony table this morning. I also emptied the plate that was fall of water under 1 of my pots. I think it has a Fuchsia in it but as it's died down I'm not too sure. There is a wooden stem sticking up from the compost but no sign of growth as yet. I'll leave it a couple of more months to see if anything comes of it.

I watered most of the plants inside our flat. I have pots of Amaryllis on the windowsill of one bedroom & the other bedroom' windowsill is chock-a-block with Geraniums & Pelargoniums. Then there's the main window in the kitchen which is 3m (10ft) long & really crammed with plants! They are mostly Geraniums & Pelargoniums though there are 6 Cacti among them!

There is also a shelf under the window, we used to call it the breakfast table 15 years ago! Now it has become the Plant table! I have put my 'Bird of Paradise' on it as well as the 2 pots of Clivias & assorted other plants!
                                .
