Started planting out some of the recently found bulbs, but halfway through it started to pour with rain again. Will attempt to make dashes out there to finish the task if and when we get breaks in the weather.

Phew.. All done at long last all the 'surprise ' bulbs , those above and all the other remaining ones , are now finally planted out. Whether they bloom or not is a different matter but at least they are now where they belong ...in the ground.:blue thumb: Woe betide any squirrels that think otherwise.:nonofinger:

I have a Fuchsia cutting growing in the kitchen which I want to transform into a standard with a 1m/3ft clean stem. Yesterday I added another length of cane to the one that was already in the pot. By spring it should have reached the maximum height I want it. I'll transplant it into a bigger pot & then start training the head. I'd rather not transplant it into a bigger pot for now as I really don't have the space to start the training.

@Balc I'm doing that as well but with 3 cuttings. I'm also trying for the first time to do 2 climbers.
It's the same as doing a standard but let it grow to the height that you want it and then pinch the top out and see what happens. I haven't done it before but read about it.

Half emptied the 2nd compost bin, have to do the 2nd half some other time, my lower back was aching too much from stooping down a lot.

Taking root cuttings of Sea Holly. Also potted on a couple of cuttings the grandchildren had taken last autumn.

Been in GH washing pots and seed trays . More tiding up in there putting the pots all back together etc and brush out the cobwebs . Think I'll try and wash the GH this week . Need to order some seeds , I've been holding out a bit they seems to be less variety this year :noidea: might be just be me .

Attacked the big border this afternoon, collecting up leaves, cutting back Verbena B. ...gosh does that re-seed !! I found some very poorly looking Hebes, not sure if they are survivable. Drastically cut back some ground covering plants that were way out of control.

Lovely day out there but the wind is very cold indeed, so I chickened out and packed up for the day.

My other half wanted to plant her Foxtail Lilies today so as it was dry I said let's go. Well, it was absolutely Baltic. We walked around looking for places to plant the nine Lilies, hopefully in groups of three, but everywhere was already planted up. After a while, I was frozen and p****d off and not good company at all. She then settled for growing them in containers.
I must have been suffering from hypothermia by this time as I came in and ordered three 100-litre containers for £60+ and 300 litres of compost to put in them.
I don't know how many times I have told her we are spending no more money on the garden. I must love her as every time she comes to me with a shopping list I relent!

Not done anything on the balcony today - only took some photos! Perhaps something tomorrow as it's supposed to be a much warmer day.

With rain all morning I've not been able to anything more than move the pots from the railings to further inside the balcony.

I had some off cuts of 8x2 timber left over from when they put the new roof on the conservatory so I took the cakes, (two packs of muffins:biggrin:),and went over to where I used to work and bribed the boss into letting me use the the dim saw to rip it down into 20 mm strips so I can make some trellis.
He would have let me do it anyway, the muffins were just a sweetner.
