Inbetween more Zinnia sowings I decided to sort through some large bin bags full of important 'treasures ' that I thought ( at the time) would be very handy to use in the greenhouse.;)
I think...nope.. I know I am addicted to saving ' very useful ' food packaging containers!! 1 bag was full of crumbling disintegrating ones and the other bag was full to overflowing with plastic squash bottles and milk containers that I ( stupidly) asked everyone I knew to save for me about 2years ago!!.I then found yet another bag full with extremely disintegrated garden fleece, unfortunately nothing was salvageable .......and I did look!:heehee:

Shame on the manufacturers for producing biodegradable stuff.....nothing lasts long these days!!:roflol:

Right coffee break over back to the greenhouse I go.:coffee:

Not much, just planted out some heucheras, dug in some leaf mould and swept a load of crud out of the greenhouse nooks and crannies

I sowed lots of cosmos after making some room. Followed your sensible plan @Upsydaisy and sorted out the boxes of ice cream tubs and other possibly useful one day stuff. All in good condition thankfully so 90% is in the recycling bin now.
The cosmos count is as follows :
Gloria, Capriola, Double Dutch White, Purity, Fizzy Purple sown a couple of weeks ago and need pricking out soon into individual pots if I have room. If not they will stay in trays and get put out from there. Normally what happens and they seem to cope.
Casanova Violet, Double Click Cranberries, Seashells, Pink Popsocks, Xanthos, Antiquity, Rubenza sown today. That leaves about 6 more packets in the sed box.
Oh dear, looks like I'm addicted to cosmos as well as dahlias.

Would be interesting to know which ones you are all growing?

Do any of you take cuttings from your tubers as they shoot ? I have never done this although have heard of it being successful.

Yes, I started doing a few last year for the first time but bought more tubers too as was my first try at this. Really successful but make sure you have a really clean knife if you are going to try it. I cleaned knife each time.

I ended up scrubbing the greenhouse brickwork to get the loose stuff off and then resprayed with patio magic.
Does anyone know if any chemicals, probably fertilizer or white wash, that smell of wet dog? Bit weird I know but that's what I could smell while in there. Could be a fox I suppose.

I've also started feeding a few things just to give them a bit of zip.

Foxes smell very similar to Fritillary bulbs and leaves, so if you have sniffed them that's fox pee smell, well to my nose anyway.

Just done some shredding, probably the last for this winter.

I'd like to get some ground prepared for some veg but its too wet now, made a decent start in February when it was dry but we're back to the sea of mud again now.

I need to clean all my pathways as they have a coating of moss and its all looking a bit shabby.

                            @infradig
I have done in the past and may well do so this year. I either cut them off close to the tuber and then treat like any soft cutting, not quite as quick as tomato side shoots to root, but not slow either.
If the shoot is a bit bigger you may well find that some roots have formed on the new growth at the bottom in which case I try and get thoseon the bit I remove.

Sowed loads more cosmos and some more dahlia seeds x 3 packets. Did some weeding.

Watered seed trays in greenhouse and gave a small sprinkle to most of the dahlia tubers.
