Today has been a morning of removing some of the Ox-Eye Daisies. Love them in my wildflower areas but they have become rather militant elsewhere!

Pulled a load out and also potted some on for friends who would like some. They know it is a thug so have been warned.

Hoverflies and several beetles on the flowers so happy to have it in moderation and down the wild area. See below

I stupidly sowed some about 4 years ago and we are still paying the price!!! They are still springing up everywhere despite my vigorous weeding out attempts. To hubs horror of horrors they're even in our lawn :yikes::thud: !!

@Upsydaisy I remember you mentioned this before and I laughed. Shasta Daisy is so much better behaved isn't it but I quite like the Ox-Eye providing I keep it in check. Have gone into battle and it's ok now. A few campions will have to come out too, most staying in wild area so that's ok.

Don't want to limit any of the flower borders space for my beloved dahlias so no contest!:spinning::spinning:

I don't like strawberries either, neither did my father.
Late partner Beryl enjoyed them and always grew them, and when she became disabled I looked after them for her, but after she died I got rid of them.

Like yesterday I've only done some watering & deadheaded a few Petunias. I also removed some dead leaves & dying leaves from a few plants.

My seedling Cosmos & Carnations are growing very well but need watering every couple of days during this hot weather. Perhaps when it cools down a bit to more "normal" temps I'll need to water them only once a week! I also have a tray of Calendulas that I sowed from my own collected seeds a couple of months ago but I can't take them out of their seedtray yet because I have no more space on the balcony to put them!

                        See what I mean?

And they have grown quite a bit since taking this picture a fortnight ago!

After a hard week at work and a quick BBQ I just planned to give a quick watering to the containers and the Toms.

Well, one thing led to another... and NOW WE ARE PREGNANT :wub2:

...well, not really, but things got watered and after I found a bottle of Tom feed in the garage, also fed. Then I found an equally crusted bottle of general feed so other plants, including houseplants got fed too.

Then the floorings got dried and scrubbed  and since it was nice outdoors, some hard core deadheading and general clearing out happened too.

And some weeding plus installing a mightily clever irrigation system for the spare Sweet Pea I grow to delight the passer bys. Pictures to follow

Got some cosmos - dahlias - tender salvias planted yesterday , I am growing cosmos apricot lemonade this year looking forward to that one and dahlia urchin hopefully the snails don't get it :fingers crossed: . Its getting hard work digging in the garden , its not that the ground to hard its the spoil that comes out of the hole finds it way back in :wallbanging: its really annoying me :heehee: .

Today I've attacked the last remaining cherry laurel , I don't really like them it was planted to shield the GH from the winds. It took a bit of digging out destroyed part of the dry stone wall but all put back right now . They a big gap there now though where everyone walking past can see into the GH and down the back of the house , so it looks like someone got to go plant shopping :hapfeet: I want a shrub or small tree something unusual / multi season ( open to suggestion ) been looking at cornus kousa / florida - cercis and a few other things but I wouldn't mind a Aralia elata variegated not sure on how it will take the site though . I do have a Rhus typhina I rescued and potted up, I didn't expect it to take but it has so now I can't throw it away and I am worried it will sucker everywhere if I plant it :rolleyespink:

Tomorrow I am doing some wood chipping and pointing the flags but first watering the pots seen as I forgot to do it this evening

Watering, fed the tomatoes and rest of greenhouse plants, removed some more dandelions and continued to plant in the area vacated by the trees last December. This area now contains most of the Polygonatum and their relatives. Sweet peas and nasturtiums are flowering here now.
