I go to bed early but always read a book when I lay down. Relaxes me. Particularly if it is something I've previously enjoyed. An old favourite or whatever. Just don't pick a big book. If you nod off, that whack on the head can be brutal :heehee:

Roast beef just now starting up for the searing stage then will be turned down to cook slowly. Then ratchet up the heat again after taking it out to start the yorkshire pudding pan heating up.

Everybody is relaxed and feeling good. :)

See you all on the sunny side :dbgrtmb:

My mother was a warbride from Darlington. My kids think of it as a very special treat. How easy is that? :)

Our guest (in our bubble) turned up for dinner nearly two hours late. :rolleyespink: Well, she does live almost a mile away!

We tried to observe recommendations so had dinner in the summerhouse (not had anyone in the house since February) and tried to have proper social distancing and had a window and door open (not until she turned up). Heating on full whack and warming the garden by the bird feeders quite nicely.

Mrs Shiney had made me laugh out loud and I tried, unsuccessfully, to get my face looking serene again - but it certainly didn't work before she took the photo. :roflol:

I think I lost a stone in 2019 and have put half of that back now. Definitely not done any body building - or other exercise. That's why I have put the weight back on. :noidea:

Just about to tuck into some "black as cole" cheese, crackers and chutney. It is absolutely delish...if you like a strong cheddar type cheese.

it's the only thing I've fancied all day as had a piggin migraine after dog walk this morning. Still did the homemade chips, cold cuts and homemade/homegrown pickled beetroot...but only now feeling better to eat.

Never heard of black as cole, does it make your tongue and roof of your mouth tingle.
Cant seem to find any cheddar like that anymore.

Well, it's got a nice "tang" to it, if that makes sense. I gave Bea :doggieshmooze: a little bit to try and from her reaction Id say yes it is tingly...wish id got a picture of her face when she was eating it-so funny.
