We have guests who are currently relaxing in the warm sunshine with Mrs shiney and Oscar. I shall be starting on the meal in about 10 minutes.

A lovely fresh vegetable soup made with homegrown veggies. Leek, garlic, carrot, turnip, celery, tomato, courgette, cabbage, bayleaf and herbs plus some veggie stock.

Salmon loin brushed with olive oil, a light squeeze of lemon and grilled, the last few minutes of grilling done with shavings of fresh ginger and sliced spring onion.
Served with new potatoes, freshly picked runner beans and a lightly spiced rice (small pieces of cinnamon sticks and cloves dropped into very hot olive oil for 30 seconds before adding chopped onion and torn bay leaves until onion is light brown. Add a couple of chopped tomatoes a sprinkling of turmeric and cook for 3 minutes. Add washed Basmati rice, top up with hot water and stock. Add half a teaspoon of mild curry powder and put in oven until cooked).

We shall finish with freshly picked golden greengages stoned, chopped, simmered and lightly mixed with a very small amount of freshly picked rhubarb and topped with a nut and mixed seed crumble - baked to a light golden colour. Custard is optional.

Wish I was having dinner with you Shiney.
    Sounds delish.
I can cook - but it's all so much better if someone else does it for you.
    Lucky guests.

Cottage pie - with carrots, french beans and finely shredded broccoli.

Apple pie with cinnamon and cloves. I did another one with a hazelnut/ cobnut oat and almond topping. Delicious with vanilla ice cream (shop bought)

The last cooked meal I had was braised lamb shank in a rich, red wine sauce with pesto mash (done with pesto and mustard) and red cabbage.

I'm just about to knock together a beef chilli with rice. :thmb: That will be followed by fresh plums from the garden. When I get back from the club, around midnight, I shall have some hot apple (picked yesterday) crumble.
