Very good, David, very good ... I don't mind the snakes, hate the ladders ... I felt sorry for the snake, really cringed. [IMG]

Me too, I suffer badly from vertigo. Feel like I want to jump off.

I was taking a photo on the cliff tops in Pembrokeshire and it was a narrow bit that stuck out into the sea, so it was like 4 feet either side of me with a very very long sheer drop into the sea. I was OK until I held my camera to my eye and then i seemed to have difficulty standing upright which made me very uneasy.
I am Ok with snakes. As a kid I remember finding one on a path. I put a stick gently behind its head, picked it up and thought"right so thats what an adder looks like" It was absolutely gorgeous.
When we were in Finland I heard some hissing while in the forest with my two sons. I turned round and saw this great big adder and when I approached it it made to head off. My two lads were yelling at me to get away but I wanted its photo. It started to go down a mouse hole so I poked at it with a stick to try and get it to stick its head out.
My sons were going mad at me by now and they had climbed up a boulder. When I looked at them they were standing on top and alongside them was the mouse from the mousehole, it looked really funny.

That would have made a good photo Geoff :D

I am afraid of the sea and how powerful it is and even when the sea is
calm I feel apprehensive but I suppose not surprising
since losing four members of the family in the1953 floods.

The photograph was taken (not by me!) a few days ago on the east coast
when there were fears of a repeat flooding.
Look how high the waves are compared to the row of chalets

Back to the original question. Do you mean frightened or afraid? Nothing much frightens me 'cause I'm an old git who has learnt to deal with what "frightens" me when it occurred. What you're afraid of is a different question.

I'm scared of uneven high ground [IMG] Mr AG took me on a walk on our honeymoon and i ended up crawling on all fours along some slanting uneven ground about 15ft from the cliff edge. Scared the bejesus out of me, never knew i was scared til that day  still won't go near high uneven ground to this day.

John, pass the creme de menthe its an emergency [IMG]

We can actually get Absinthe now. It's banned on the Continent.

This is probably going to sound very weird but anyway, I am afraid of going under water, I can swim but I panic a bit at the pool if someone gets to close to me when I'm swimming in case I lose control and go under. [IMG]

    I don't go swimming much !!

AG. Most of the paintings and poetry/paintings we admire were written/painted under the influence of Absinthe. It's got Wormwood in it, a mild halluciogenic drug. We've been able to get hold of it for the past 2 yrs., in this country. But, I'm afraid, that it's just high-octane alcohol, without the Wormwood. [IMG]
