That's what I've done with ours, this one is our spare room one as we had a new one on our bed last year.

Job done! Took all of fifteen minutes.

      Started with this.

      P1020181.JPG

      Ended with this.

      P1020184.JPG

Easily done with a hot air gun and some deft use of a couple of pairs of pliers and a hacksaw.

A hot air gun is ideal for bending Swish curtain rail.

There's no way I could have otherwise achieved this for the bay window of our front room.
It enables us to get most of the curtain off the window. Not so much thhis one as the TV is in front of it and the "snake pit" of wires behind it for the kit under it get in the way.

      P1020185.JPG

But this one's better, as the return wall is longer.

      P1020186.JPG

The trick is to be careful not to have the gun too hot and do it slowly, a bit at a time. You have to avoid making the bends too sharp or the sliders won't slide. Each side is just one length of track, which meet in the cente of the window.

We are expecting about 12 inches of part snow, then ice, and then more snow...it will start noonish Saturday and end sometime Sunday...They declared a state of emergency from noon today, Saturday till noon Sunday already.

Have gas for the plow jeep, and generator and kerosene for the back up greenhouse furnace and Alice, the tortoise, furnace. Plenty of sand and salt. Food is stocked up and there are piles of wood pellets for the greenhouse and living room. A few years ago the chickens tarp fell with the weight of tons of wet snow. Their courtyard has been reinforced so we will see how it holds up. We use a snow rake on it over the time in a deep snowstorm.

NO one is ever totally ready for what is in store for us but we will handle it...

Managed to clean the tunnel with the 4 year old, we were completely soaked and cold this afternoon.
Sweet peas planted in the propagator, and two 75ft rows of peas (early onwards) planted in the hot beds.
Hardwood cuttings tomorrow from hydrangea, magnolia, lavender, Rhodos, ILex- Holly verigated silver and gold.

              Sorted the rockery.
Did some weeding and cleared a lot of tiny dead connifer leaves off it.

Doesn't look much but as the flox has grown well, I hope it will look even better than this in 2018.

Removed some dead wood on this acer.

It looks a bit "harum scarum" at the moment.

But with a bit of pruning through the year, it will stay the same shape as last year.

I spent more time cleaning my golf trolley, golf clubs, golf shoes and the car.

Having a fight with Ivy, she's the nextdoor neighbour, well the roots are over that side any way.:snorky:

Cut loads of it back a couple of weeks ago.
So spent a couple of hours putting some of it through the shredder.
