Don't forget that all parts of Brugmansia are poisonous - especially the seeds.

Sent off the Plantworld Seeds order today, so there will be a few new plants to try in the New Year..Heloniopsis orientalis looks interesting, Holboellia, Lallemantia canescens. Just need to find a way of stopping sciarid flies decimating the seedlings!

Yes all from seed. All from Special Plants. The Paeonia is the most problematic.

Glad I found this thread . I am reducing my growing from seed a little this year, but I do need some inspiration for new varieties. Only "new" one I have on my list is Thunbergia Black eyed susan - without the black eye. Thunbergia Clear , a nice 4 foot climber or trailer.

yes you are right two years , 1st year root then 2nd year shoot as you know already but just in case others are reading this , the seed have to be fresh and well stored I have found.
I grow Rockii , its never set seed always has big fat pods just to fool me .

You are right some seeds just disappear out the catalog , I had difficulty sourcing "Santa" tomato seeds, I have 4 saved from two years ago kept in the fridge so hopefully should be viable, to think I have "Manx Marvel" stashed in the hundreds now.

                        thanks

Well I have ordered all my seeds for 2015 now. Not many new varieties as I am trying to keep the number I grow from seed at a controllable level !

Two new Chillies , Tokyo Hot a cayenne variety . And this one in the first photo below Patio Fire a "table top " Chilli.
A Japanese trailing Petunia , Explorer F1 Scarlet . I grew the white last year , it's a cracking petunia for a basket . It flowered and kept its shape without getting straggly all season , well into November.
I love Cosmos , problem they can get very very big - even the dwarf varieties can take over a bit.
I am trying Limara miniature Cosmos in lemon , lets see how they perform !

Petunia Explorer - hope mine looks half as good !

Bought myself a nice present at the weekend, Im getting itchy Green fingers. I always wanted one and as Urban Jungle Norwich had 30% off Palms, I couldnt resist. This was intended to be planted in the border, but it looks better on the patio so will need to buy a nice big pot.

                          Palm.jpg
Please excuse the mess in the background. I am attempting to level off my lawn by building a retaining wall which I will fill with top soil and then turf.

Also, there was 50% off seeds, I have never grown Cosmos or Knautia from seed before.

                          50% off.jpg
