    Planted 100 Crocus bulbs in my grass and front garden, hopefully they'll be better than the bulbs I planted last year (that half-heartedly flowered this year). And some Snowdrops too!

    You're growing Motorola's most popular 8 bit microprocessor of the 1980s? Well done. The M6500 was a good CPU for its time. It didn't run at such high clock speeds as the likes of the Zilog Z80 or the Intel 8080, but it required less pulses per instruction, with some instructions such as integer add taking a single pulse. It was a RISC CPU before the term RISC was even coined, and was well suited to the hardware of the day, its high throughput/clock speed ratio making it an ideal low cost solution given the memory, graphic and audio hardware of the day. It all meant that the likes of the Atari 800 XL that used the M6500 were both affordable and desirable.

    I didn't realise you could grow them though.

        Don't forget to leave planting the Tulips bulbs until November, lolimac, so that you've got a good chance of the bulbs avoiding Fire Blight.:coffee:

          You're welcome, lolimac:lunapic 130165696578242 5: Look for Tulip Fire Blight not just Fire Blight as the latter will just tell you about Pears, apples and Contoneaster, Sorbus etc:heehee:

            OUT have gone most of the Bluebells and Grape Hyacinthe.

            In their place I have put;

            Two Erythronium varieties (Kondo and Pagoda)
            Several dwarf Iris
            Fritillary (Snakeshead, Uva-vulpis, Imperialis)
            Ornithogallum nutans
            Ipheon (Alberto Costillo)
            Scilla peruviana

            I got some Tulip Queen of the Night yesterday, and ordered a bunch of Hermodactylus last night too.

              Didn't know that, had to look it up (Lolimac you're not the only one!!) and found this:
              Tulip bulbs can be planted right up until Christmas and still flower perfectly well in the following spring because they only need a short season of growth. However daffodils, crocus and other spring bulbs take much longer and they do need to be planted in September to give them a three full months before the shortest day.
              Tulips shouldn’t be planted until late October at the very earliest because they are prone to a botrytis disease commonly called tulip fire blight. As with all fungal diseases warm and damp temperatures accelerate the condition.
              Means I have to plant all those crocuses etc now, although I wanted to do it AFTER changing the plants in my borders around a bit :scratch: . Should have bought tulips
              only :snork:
