I'm also looking for the same. Are there any recommendations for something that doesn't flower but has dark purply leaves?

(Second question, is there a name for plants that have dark leaves like acers and berberis?)

Nah, I can do that sort of "Nil bastardo carborundum" in loads of languages! All those purple leaved plants seem to be called that, as I was explaining to my 11 year old recently ... I was expecting her to be able to guess what"Atropurpureum" was when looking at a copper leaved plant, seems it was not as obvious as I though, and then when I'd explained it she said "OK I get the 'purpureum' bit, but what does 'Atro' mean" at which point my school-boy Latin ran out!!!

    So what does "Atro" mean?

OK, I've got off my idle posterior! and Googled it. Excellent answer here:

    "atr" adj black / dark

"o" connective vowel in botanical Latin, usually for Greek words but in some cases, such as colour tingeing, for Latin words

"purpureus / purpure" adj purple coloured

Dai, mate, Jasmine is a climber.

Of course it needs support though- ALL climbers need support of some kind. They can't climb through thin air.
