I love the Chelsea tickets, such a good idea for a present as they are pretty expensive!

Now I've got an idea for maybe, my birthday?!

I had the usual pj's, slippers, smellies and loads of books, better get on reading :D

Oh, and one of those things you can kneel on when weeding etc. I'd rather get down and dirty.

Lucky woman, Josephine, to see Michael Bolton in concert. What's the title of that song again..."said I loved you, but I lied..." ?

So far I have to treat my daughters ..."BALAMORY LIVE" at the Hammersmith Apollo kind of thing.

'No babes in arms' or 'under 5's' ...... What's that all about ???

Does that mean they would gain admission if paid for ?

I've never been before, so don't know what the rules are. But I wouldn't think they could 'discriminate' against youngsters ?

It seems crazy, N, but I guess there will be old fogies running the show, and they don't want "little kids running about and getting everyone upset" (in inverted commas as it's not my view!!!)

If it was pointed out that it was discrimination, maybe they'd have to stop it? Could be worth while, as it's a stupid thing not to encourage the kids to do with gardening. Catch them young!!

That is my thought, get them interested whilst young, Georgia who is only 4 (last October), has her own plants each year. Last year, we encouraged her to look after the strawberries, the reward for that ....... Obvious really :D

They should encourage youngsters and encourage parents to encourage their children, just look at the way that society is going now, with all the carbon emissions.

It is only the tip of the iceberg, and I know you do get little brats, but those that have been encouraged should not miss out on something like the Chelsea Flower Show.

I may send them an Email for their views.

just been looking at the information booklet that came with my tickets and this is what it says . for reasons of comfort & safety, children under 5, babes in arms, pushchairs & prams are not permitted under any circumstances.

we would usually take our kids along to any of the big shows because they cater for kids as well, the kids usually love it and it does help in encouraging them into gardening ways . but i guess that chelsea doesnt cater for kids, full stop.we hadnt planned on taking them to chelsea because , well i guess were treating it as a weekend away for mum & dad :D .cant help but agree though that it is biased.

Does Chelsea Flower Show cater for invalids in wheelchairs ?

My Email has been sent, and I will be posing that same question, as it is a matter of discrimination I feel.

We will see, or they may just ignore me :D

Presumably this also applies to wheelchair users, or is that too hot a PC potato ? Seems mental to me. kids under five are less of a handful or threat to displays than older children, not that anyone should be excluded. Eating, changing and mobility demands can be just as easily applied to the elderly as soon as to under 5's. Chelsea is the snootiest of snooty gardening shows I would expect nothing less.
