My son has just passed his driving test and so I am now redundant and can say goodbye to the school run! Mind you I have been getting him to ring me when he gets to school safely everyday, as I did when his brothers drove themselves to school!!

I then visited my parents who are off to the environs of Dartmouth for their hols tomorrow (very early!) to drop off a father's day pressie (one of those plastic containers that hold a grow bag and a large trug - v.useful) and mainly to be given strict instructions on what to do and what not to do with the greenhouse and watering their numerous pots and hanging baskets, which watering can to use etc......... came home with a large tray of cosmos which will look super when planted in my borders.

Wish my sons has thought to treat my plants to a little water whilst we were away for a long weekend last week! (My precious plants in the conservatory were well and truly frazzled, and it was 'my fault because I didn't put watering plants on their list of do's and don'ts'. (How silly of me!!)

What an uneventful day - but hopefully I will get some gardening done this weekend weather permitting! :)

Bet you're glad that job's done Pro! Sounds like a busy day spud! (did you do that bloke's hedge?!?)

I went round to water a friend's garden (she is on holiday). Had watered it yesterday, and thought to myself 'blimey, I watered it well', because the posts were still moist around the bottom. Then I noticed the hose coiled around the garden (I had put it away)! Looks like someone else has been watering too! :D

Certainly was tricky !! a right nasty job oh and the day got off to a bad precedent when a seagull crapped into my open flask just as i was about to have my first cup off coffe before starting.

Spud, that bit about wanting it done the same day cracked me up, had a few like this before when i used to advertise, The best was a guy who phoned and left a messadge at 10pm friday night on my mobile then left a messadge monday morning at 6am saying that if he didnt hear from me soon hed have to get someone else...... He had too!!!!!!!!!!

Long walk to ruins of old castle. Got fallen trees over the path, sliding stones tried to kill me, went off the path to take a picture of a colony of foxgloves and ended up hanging from a beech branch with nothing but air under my feet (not kidding) ,lost our way twice, ended in a private garden that looked like just a part of the woods, ate strawberries, were chased by a big dog, then it rained on us all the way home.

    Ready for bed now. Definitely.
