Good luck with the meet up with your family Victoria and hope all goes well:smile:

Been watching Long Lost Families on the telly last night and always end up sniffling into my tissue when like last night three sisters who thought they were only children found out that they each had two more sisters they didn't know about so now they are all getting on in years have so much to catch up on.It is such a pity that parents have to keep so many things secret about their past:sad:

For did dins tonight I had two small chipolata sausages ,mushrooms and egg and a few chips.:biggrin:Mr Kandy went all posh and had trout:eeew:

Last night was home made soup, a beautiful British rib eye steak (quite cheap from Aldi), new potatoes, chick peas done with browned onions, some cumin seeds and fine slivers of celery fried with the onions, and brussel sprouts done with flaked almonds. Followed by fresh conference pears from the garden - the last of them.

Tonight shall be just two bowls of soup and then some grapefruit followed by apple crumble.

This evening we are having one of our specials "Vizitsa" Risotto - This was a holiday dish from a couple of years back. We were walking in the mountains around Vizitsa in the Pelion area of Greece and decided to make an evening meal of whatever we gathered along the way. We collected Walnuts, Sweet Chestnuts, Ceps and some wild Celery, incorporated these into a simple risotto and added some local Kefaloteri cheese. - At home we use dried ceps or porcini and substitute Parmesan for the local cheese. - A lovely Autumnal dish bringing back happy holiday memories too.

Last night was our anniversary so I decided to cook us a meal.
Duck breast with a cherry sauce, braised Savoy cabbage, sweet potato mash and glazed baby carrots :pathd:
