Forgot to update this, sorry - the chicken breasts were really lovely; I am quite impressed with the Maggi stuff, as it's handy for making a tasty dinner on the quick. :dbgrtmb:

Today, it is shoulder of lamb, very slowly cooked on a trivet of veg (swede, leeks, onion, parsnip, carrots) with a half pint or so of vegetable stock, some bay leaves and a pinch of thyme) and covered with a foil lid; its been in six hours so far, so should be about ready :dancy:

Need to get my finger out and decide what other veggies I am going to do to go with it....

I'm guessing you need some leafy veg to go with that, our FC. Reason being, you have 3 lots of root veg there (high starch in two of them) and it needs balancing with some above ground fodder ;)

Sounds wonderful though ... I'm booking me coach fare for next Sunday as I type :dbgrtmb: (Squidge over a bit ... make room!)

*Sends Jenny some sprout seeds, slashes her violin strings and adds a strawberry (or three) to update her beret*

*looks out of the window .. decides it is drafty enough ... cuts Jenny's sprout ration to 3* :nonofinger:

Well, in the end we had green beans with the rest of the veg, and as is usually the case with lamb, it tasted better in my head than it did in reality. Still, Mrs C seemed to enjoy it :dbgrtmb:

Aaaw - that's a pity FC. Now, what was wrong with the lamb? ( poor wee thing - I think he did his best...). I dislike that so much - when your meal doesn't come up to scratch.

:wow: some of the above recipes have really got my taste buds going but for me very simple today -
Sausage casserole from the freezer - shoulder playing up and for a while having to take it easy.

It wasn't the wee lamb @Jenny namaste it was me - I'm not really a lover of lamb or pork as I find them too fatty

Surprisingly, for a wee fattie, I don't like too much fat

The first 'shin o' beef' stew of the winter, with garlicky dumplings, (or Doughboys as me old Dad used to call 'em).
