What did your parents tell you ?

    The old favorite was "don't bite your nails or you'll get worms in your tummy". I've never stopped biting my nails and I've never had worms!! One comment from my Dad that I remember was "you think that I'm a know-nothing old git. When you're older you'll know that this old git knew something" and he was right. The other one was, " keep your eyes and ears open and your gob shut". Sound advice for a child of the 50/60's in the East End of London and one that we all followed!! That is relevant any where and at any age.
