Evening folk! [IMG] You saying about tomatoes, Dave, I put it in another thread, but I also did my second lot of sun-dried tomatoes today that we got from our friends yesterday. First lot dried in two days so by tomorrow evening I'll be soaking them all in olive oil to marinate ready for winter sauces. [IMG] [IMG]

Lime basil sounds tasty ... what is it (other than lime basil)? Never heard of it. [IMG]

We thought about sun-dried toms LoL and I'd read your post about them. However though we rather fancied trying the weather now here is a bit iffy for drying. We'll perhaps give it a try in the GH or airing cupboard.

Lime basil is just that. Basil with a VERY distinctive scent of lime. (Son gave us a Xmas present of around 50 different herb seeds) It will be interesting to see how the toms turn out. We've also done some in normal basil and some in mint.

Nick - I know what you mean. When we home brewed it never seemed to keep [IMG]

Sounds yummy, Dave. In case you read the sun-dried toms post earlier, I re-posted today as Rosa wanted to know how to do them in the oven so I've added that to the bottom of the "real" version.

Did you see mine drying on the Bread Oven in My Algarve Garden post? Did another lot today from toms given by friend yesterday. Can't wait to try the sauce in the Autumn/Winter as this is my first attempt at it! [IMG]

Well Strongy I saw them in Unwins catlogue and thought they looked bit different give em a whirl hope the blasted critters that are feeding on the tiny flowers of the Violas don't find them... So I thought a big pot of the ground they might stand a chance don't like winter Pansies much perhaps these will be a bit different What do you think to interplanting them with the Violas?

Rosie, We just chuck whatever fruit we have to hand into a liquidiser. Currently using our own apples, plums and blueberries plus local strawberries with occasional Tesco pineapple, banana, kiwi fruit, orange etc. Will be adding out own pears soon.
Depending on the mix we sometimes add a bit of water and (very rarely) sugar and I'll sometimes add soya milk to mine (Mrs W don't like milk in any shape or form!)
Supposed to be best for you BEFORE eating the rest of breakfast. In fact all fruit intake is supposed to be more beneficial before rather than after a meal.
