Sunday: Bowl of stewed apple and quince, crumpet with blueberry conserve and a dollop of yogurt, a chocolate brioche, toast with honey and a nice strong coffee. (Much more modest fare the rest of the week though).

Always start with a huge mug of fresh made real coffee and a spot of cream in it. Sip that a while while I get ready for the day. Then a second mug of coffee. Usually my go to breakfast is just two farm fresh eggs scrambled in the pan with butter and that is all at about 8AM. then off to work. They hold me against hunger pangs until about 1 or 2 PM. Sometime on the weekends I will make a pot of steel cut oats and simmer up cubed apples with brown sugar for the topping of the oats. Sometime a piece of toast with a nice thick slice of brie and jam. Some weekend mornings a huge veggie omlete with sausages and toast. Or maybe pancakes, or even potato pancakes with sausages. Today--Sunday, Oct. 5, have not gone beyond the coffee yet. It is 7:25 AM.
Another nice breakfast item for me is toast with cold baked salmon on top. Or simmered chunks of tomatoes with chick peas and feta cheese, 6 gently laid eggs on top of it all and baked until the eggs are done.
