    :D :D ... a piskie

Thanks MF ... that is really great info I'll keep ... and thanks HB because when I looked back it was "my" butterfly! All of this is so fascinating and another path in my retirement! [IMG]

There are so many butterfles here. There is a yellow one I've seen, upper wings a different shade than the lower, very "glowing" looking. I'm now on the outlook all the time, especially since it seems I have such odd species! I've made a separate file for my photos and I really do thank you guys for all your input ... NO, identification because I don't have a clue!

    Many thanks! [IMG]

Try to contact a local natural history group or museum LOL. You will be able to enjoy them without knowing their names, but finding out what each is called and something about its lifestyle and migration routes can add enormously to your interest and enjoyment.

Good luck and I do envy you. We still have a few red admirals and commas flying in my garden but that's exceptional for November in Britain.

    More photos please :D

I must start carrying my camera out and about with me. Yesterday as we were passing through our nearest little town we saw two storks on top of a chimney so we think they're making a nest. The nearest ones are in Silves where we shop and there are about four or five pairs of them at least. Saw three circle flying yesterday.

Lucky you again - think I'll move to Portugal. Can you use a houseboy?

Storks are considered lucky in many parts of Europe and often encouraged to nest on chimneys
