What is buzzing or flying near you today??

    Hyla,what a beautiful bird.I do so love Barn Owls but sadly they are getting rare.I am glad that you have them nesting in your barns.If it was me they could make all the noise they wanted.You are so lucky...

    I think you can compost their poo and pellets,after all chicken poo is recycled and the calcium from the pellet bones should do a bit of good.You would probably have to let it rot down a bit like they have to with chicken poo.The best people to ask for advice would be the RSPB,but I am not sure what the bird groups in your part of the world are called...

    A pheasant has flown into our garden few days ago thought he or she had gone and appearded again this morning got so close to back door thought if door had been open would have come in.

    Thankyou Roders he seemed so tame but I am not so sure I kept my distance.Yes he is a hansome chap.

    99.9% of male birds are very bright as they need to attract a nice female, for breeding purposes,not like human men,half of them look like they have fallen out of a dustbin :D :D

    I don't think they need to work that hard nowadays in order to achieve that...

    Scotkat ,he is a beauty,we have a lot here from surrounding estates,& are actually quite tame with being hand reared.

    [​IMG] Well not up to the standards of Owls & Pheasants, superb photos... [​IMG] But it was buzzing yesterday in the sunshine as I walked Charley... There were Bumble Bees & Hoverflys buzzing & birds singing..

    This Hoverfly stopped to sun himself for a minute as well..

    After the really awfull weather we had at the weekend it was great to be ablle to walk along the beach this afternoon and catch a little sunshine.

    The seals were enjoying it too!

    Murphy just caught a lizard but my lovely bloke managed to rescue it unhurt!

    :( This winter they changed our lovely old street lamp on a post in our lane for one of those horrid orange things...!! Yuk to progress...!!!! :mad:
