Lovely photo Marley.Where we used to live the old Saxon church was given spotlights which would shine up onto the church.Problem was it upset the local Robin who could often be heard singing at the top of his voice at midnight.I don't know when he ever got any sleep :D :D

Beautiful photos Frogesque, not much chance of seeing Eiders down here.
Like the robin MF and such a cheerful song too. [IMG]

Frogesque - great shots! Is that the Forth? Are the whales still about? My son and I spent a good hour at South Queensferry looking for them - but not even a ripple!

We have a pair of oystercatchers who have nested on the flat roof of the school over our hedge. Their skirling cries are becoming part of the 'garden sound, along with the sparrows and (at this time of year) the frogs!

    Poor old robin MF!

Yep, it's on the north side of the Forth, Seafield, Kirkcaldy. I didn't see any of the Killer Whales but there were reports of them at the Pathhead end of the town. The seals are regulars and pretty well resident and the Eider have their own favorite spot too. No chicks yet but later on they will be bobing about like little fluffy brown corks.

Nearer home my friend had a Heron in the garden and sadly Lucky (or Lucy) the goldfish is no more :(

Sorry about your Robin MF, just don't get me started on light pollution! [IMG]

I remember as a youngster, watching in horror as a carrion crow swooped down, and plucked a goldfish from my parent's pond - then flew to a nearby tree, and devoured it infront of our very eyes!

    Light pollution... [IMG]

I saw our first bumble bee of the year about 10 minutes ago out by the front door. Yours were over a week ahead of ours MF.

Love your seal picture frogesque and your yum-yum one Paladin.

Looked out of the window 20 minutes ago and spotted this on the garden fence. I had to take the pic through the window as the door was directly opposite the bird.

Superb photos! Love the ladybird Paladin, and that is one lucky, and lovely shot Dave! We have had sparrowhawks fly through the garden - and occasionally stop on the hedge/ nextdoors tree - but I've never had my camera any where near handy - and even if I did, I'd never get a shot like that! Brilliant!
