We also had some unwelcome guests in the garden, the banded ones arrived in force -

Cabbage White Butterfly Caterpillars (ID thanks to Walnut)

The green ones came singly -

and to close the critters for today -

Thanks Keving, this isn't the giant green one, this was smaller and so friendly! The giants appeared in our garden this past week but no chance to get a pic of one, they are too quick.

Thanks Dizi. I was busy with the camera but do you know, I got all the pics very quickly, I just kept snapping away. Other times you can go out and look and look and find nothing, this time everything just seemed to appear in front of me. Was my lucky day for insects.

Keving, great photos ... and Sis ... you never fail to amaze me with your photography these days ... [IMG]

When I do seem to have the camera to hand, they are either flying / flapping so quickly or fly away the moment I take the shot.

I just haven't got the knack for moving objects or close ups so will stick to my country scenes ... :D :D

    Lovely, both you guys. [IMG]

Kedi-Gato, i actually hate anything that buzzs around, the sound they make makes me shiver, they sound like a small motorbike, making me shiver now just thinking about it

lol, they are quite tame if you move slowely and if they do fly off they come back to the same spot, si its a case if just waiting and not chasing them around.

Sorry, Kev, in the heat here one doesn't rush around chasing anything ... you sit still with the camera but these buggars here are so quick and some so unidentifiable (and I have a most brilliant book on all things identifiable) that it's almost impossible .. believe me ... :D [IMG]

WOW ! I don't know how you all get such incredible shots. As soon as I go near anything in the garden it flies off. The only way I get to see things close up is when they are trapped in the bathroom.....

Still, I wouldn't want to be in T.O.'s shoes with the cockroaches thank you very much. I would need more than a stiff drink to get over that [IMG] [IMG] Yuk !
