I just love that beetle, Rouxbee, wonderful shot with lots of detail! Love your little daily visitor too, is it a thrush?

    Today I have a 7-spot ladybird -

Walnut - your help is needed yet again. For Ruby's green beetle and my odd ladybird. Thanks!

Here are a few of the recent visitors to our garden

The local honey farm has hives not far from our garden.

I think this is a Dance fly

We get a lot of hover flies as we have a wild area at the bottom of the garden.

    Not sure what this is.

    Cheers

Loads more great pics folks, tho not so sure of that dance fly ace - looks a bit too much like a spider for my liking! *shiver*

Our record so far this year (caught on camera!)...

[IMG] Six goldfinches (you can only just see the one on the middle left perch) and a greenfinch. I like the cheeky chappie at the top, looking to see if there's a vacancy on the niger! :D

Thanks, though I can take no credit - it's the birds that are beautiful!

I set up our feeding station quite a few years ago, previously I had feeders in different locations - seed hanging from the washing line etc. The seed used to grow everywhere, so I decided to make a dedicated feeding area. The birds love it - but it is quite far from the house. The pics I can get from the dining room are on 24 zoom, so not great quality. However, there's not really anwhere closer I can relocate it. (I do use no-mess seed often now, even though it doesn't matter so much where it falls!)

This little House Martin was sitting on the fence waiting for mum. ( Its now back in the nest)

I also spoted this beetle on the fence (any ideas anyone)

Hi Jarbax I agree the Dance fly is not very nice looking, it uses that spike to spear smaller flies.

    Cheers
