Thanks Walnut, have edited it in.

There was a hedgehog in our garden about a half an hour ago and I managed to get a couple of shots of him -

Here he had run away and was hiding between the compost bin and the neighbours fence.

I am just amazed that you folk can capture these critters so close up. They just don't sit still long enough for me .... perhaps because of the heat and they move on quickly .... well, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Well done everyone .... I'm well impressed. :thumb:

Another beauty! Well done Paladin. I've never seen one like this before. I hope you can ID this one too, Walnut.

Marley - I've checked the name you gave and I think we have the females or young males in our garden, I've seen them quite often.

I think your bee was working overtime, just covered in pollen. Great pics

Marley i'm impressed,Pal and Kedi super photos, Bob your right there is a distinct lack of butterflies this year normally the buddleia are full of peacocks and admirals at this time I haven't seen one, hedgehogs are pretty good climbers Bob a 2ft wall should be no problem.

:( Bob & Walnut you are so right about the butterflies this year..! Hardly any.. Is is because it has been fairly cool & damp again this year do you think.?
:thumb: I did spot this little chap on a walk on Sunday.! None on my Buddlia either Bob...:(

Beautiful shots Marley .... and your little bee looks like it's covered in sugar :) ... I've never seen such.

Your little bee is lovely too, Sis. :thumb:

I think your butterflies must be here .... my Lantana is attracting them all .... Monarchs by the plane loads, Clouded Yellows which won't sit still for a nanosecond and too many Whites to keep track of. I haven't seen any Scarce Swallowtails yet but I keep looking in hope. Twice I have captured the Clouded Yellows but they have turned out white in the photos as the sun was shining through them. :(

Unfortunately, I only see hedgehogs as road pizza along with a lot of snakes at the moment ....

I've never seen a Poplar Hawk Moth, it's a beauty with those odd-shaped wings and so big too. When I see squirrels in our garden (red ones) it is through the mosquito nets so no pics have ever turned out clear. That's a lovely shot, Marley.

I've not seen many butterflies this year either but now we know where they have gone - off to visit Sis in sunny Portugal! :D
