    Pete, I can't catch them live, sorry ..... :(

Oh, Marley, I discovered what they were and then went outside to sit with a glass of wine as the air is so fresh after a hot day .... and you pipped me ... I had Gatekeeper and Marbled White marked in my book ... cross my heart and hope to die. xx

Pip, I did say the Cicada was dead as a dodo ... :D

Just love your butterflies Bob and Pete!

I just seem to have a lot of bees and hoverflies this year.

Hoverflies on the Chinese Anemones this morning -

The first butterfly to visit my bud bush this year, the first I have seen anyway :)

    A beautiful comma.

A wonderful shot, Pip! The purple of the Buddleia really shows the orange of the butterfly at its best. :thumb:

    Thanks Bob.

I don't use zoom for close-ups, I have tried it a few times but the results were never satisfactory. I get as close as I can and use macro. I cropped these two pics and added text, nothing else.

I have a Jendigital 5.0z3 EasyShot camera. ( www.jenoptik-camera.com ) An inexpensive camera, cost around â?¬100 18 months ago. I think it was a good camera to learn a bit about photography with.
