I found this pair of dragonfly wings in the garden yesterday. I think they belonged to a Southern Hawker.

:thumb: Excellent photos everyone..!! :thumb: Nice shot Pal... All mine were so high up I just had to hold the camera & hope....

:( Yes Kedi, I think I mentioned it before when you peeps was posting pics of them... There is a distinct lack of them around this area this year....:( Not just me, allot of gardeners around here are saying it. Except of course for the dreaded cabbage whites... ... Not sure why, we usually are blessed with plenty of colourful ones, but for some reason, not this year... So that little collection this morning was a real treat to see.... Even if they were right up the top, as my bud' is nearly over now except for the very top..!!:)

Cracking photos everyone, has anybody noticed the lack of honey bees since the last lot of rain. A couple of weeks ago we had lot on the flowers now there are hardly any. In saying that most of the flowers have taken a bashing from the rain with even the unopened buds rotting away. I took these photos a few years ago when we had a honey bee nest in the side of one of our upstairs windows (they had been there for many years and caused us no problems at all) One day they swarmed filling the garden with bees then they all landed on one of the apple trees and I managed to get these pics. ( It's not easy to hold a camers steady with loads of bees buzzing round your head, in fact the dog we had then got stung )
