What is buzzing or flying near you today??

Yep 20 years ago in Blanes in Spain, not seen one since.:(
Good to know they are about there, the detail is clearer on the new pic.:thumb:

 

Apparently it is the best-known butterfly in the Algarve so I'll keep my eyes open now that they seem to have appeared and read iif they like a partcular shrub they return to it. :thumb:

I found a fascinating article last year in the paper on the butterflies here and have it as a pagemark in my Med book on wldlife. Also have a good artcle on snakes.

Hornbeam (remember him?) told me there is one place iin the UK (on the east coast I think) where they can be found.
