Excellent shots Ruby on the birds and the bees ..... :thumb:

I've been on the trail of the butterflies again this morning and now that I have somewhat clearer photos I must correct what I said above .... these are the Swallowtails not the Scarce Swallowtail (Iphiclides podalirius) ... which I am keeping my eyes open for.

They obviously like the Lantana Lol. :thumb:If you planted a lot of Milkweed (Asclepias) you might get the Monarchs back. :)

That's okay bobj .... just flutter past me as though I'm invisible .... :p

I like yours as well .... how do you keep them to sit still? Mine seem to flutter even whilst on a bloom ....

I also got a Meadow Brown (Maniola jurtina) but it was too blurred with it's fluttering.

Went for a walk as it was warm and sunny for a change.
The circular route we take goes past Lodmoor Bird Reserve
where this Little Egret was fishing.

The beach where these Turnstones were running around.

    and turning stones.:dh:

Coastline towards Lulworth, not so sunny now!

Back to town and through Radipole Bird Reserve and here we found the rare male Hooded Merganser which has taken up residence and fancies the female Tufted Ducks.

We had a wonderful week with mainly great weather in England :thumb:, so don't know what everyone complains about :D

I have a few pics to post in this thread, but it might not be until tomorrow. I had the old camera with me, didn't have time to unpack the new one before we went.

Found this beauty in the shed it's Tegenaria gigantea female the largest of the house spiders the body size was about 18mm and they cann't half move I placed it in the greenhouse whilst I cleared the shed so it wouldn't get injured, I guess mrs Walnut will avoid the area.
