How about this little Herald Moth-Scoliopterix libatrix. This is one I know a little about. It maybe widespread, but it keeps itself well camoflaged in the day usually. Found it when tidying up the Euphorbia. It is a night flying Moth. It has a wingspan of approximately 40mms. Is found throughout the UK, is seen all year round mainly in woodlands, and gardens. The herald moths' bright orange forewings are always on view to its predators, so in an effort to conceal itself from predators during the daytime it rests among dead leaves. It is one of the few night flying moths that spends the winter in the moth stage, hibernating in out buildings.Herald moths are often found around gardens and houses, where they can easily blend in with the background.

 

Spotted this Commer Butterfly when out walking today..

 

Also this beautifully coloured fly...... I don't normally take much notice of flys but this one was so colourful in his red gold & black......

 

This Red Admiral was sunning himself this morning..
