We were up that way last week for four days and it rained or snowed 90% of the time we were there - a far cry from the weather during most of this week!

 

Seen in Florida last year. I think it is a type of fly, although it looks quite wasp-like -

Vicky, some Chiffchaffs stay in the UK (as do some female Blackcaps and Black Redstarts) particularly here on the south coast, some winter in the Med and some in Africa.

Swallows and Martins have been arriving in numbers now, they stop here over the Bird reserve to fuel up (lots of gnats) on their way northward.

Hi Keddi,I beieve it's called a big legged plant bug orleaf footed bug in the family Coreidae and the genus Acanthocephala probably Acanthocephala declivis.

Nothing worse than having your iberis nibbled Woo,especially by an hover they're full of bother.

Great pictures Woo the bee looks like he has his winter coat on,the peacock is early,that's a nice orange tip Anthocharis cardamines.
