I don't know what these flying critters are but they have been appearing over the past couple of days with the heat onslaught (high 20s) ....

Early yesterday morning, I know this is a poor pic but it is the best my little camera can do.
I was watching this male Marsh Harrier hoping to see it fly but it just sat there, the female is nesting nearby so I guess he was keeping the Magpies and Crows at bay.

A Common Whitethroat. There are hundreds of Reed Warblers here now along with dozens of (resident) Cettis Warblers.

Hi Shiney, you little bug is a Cockchafer or 'Maybug' {Melolontha melolontha} adult beetles are usually 25-35mm long. They are night flyers and often crash into windows when they are attracted to the lights of the house.

If you still have it I would find it a new home because though the grubs have been living underground for up to four years, they do the most damage eating the roots of quiet a variety of different plants and vegetables:(

Here is a Link to them...http://www.kendall-bioresearch.co.uk/chafer.htm

Does anyone know what my flying critter is above .... ?

I don't claim to know anything about flying critters, and I'm even worse at photographing them, but this one keeps coming around .... is it a Chiffchaff?

The first two were taken a couple of days ago and the last just a while ago so they may be different anyway.

Victoria, the top and middle birds look like House Sparrows and the bottom bird is a Goldfinch:)

The insect looks like some sort of Weevil but will have to look in my books to see which one it is exactly.:)

I think the 1st 2 look like sparrows as well but birds are not my best subject.. The second one perhaps a youngster malting the last few immature feathers..? Not sure about the last.. If the last isn't a Goldfinch, as the beak looks a little long Kandy.. How about a female Oriole Vicky.. They are fairly common on the continent & can inhabit coastal areas there as well I think..
