These are the Goldfinches that come to feed every day in my garden.Compare mine with yours and you will see they are the same.Golden Oriels are larger and the males are bright yellow with black wings. The top and middle bird is defiently House Sparrow:)

Here is the link to identify the birds and if you look up Golden Oriel you will see the colours....

A very annoying Jackdaw 'visited' our garden today, but was caught and killed by our Jack Russell. It is now hung-up to warn others off from 'visiting' when we put food elsewhere for them.

Great shots, everyone. Capney, I just love your friendly little visitor, wonderful close-up.

Shiney, someone posted a pic of a cockchafer last year, so I posted the below pics to show the grubs. As Kandy said, they are the ones that do damage in the garden, the bugs are harmless, even when they bump into you.

While i was gazing out forlornly at the rain yesterday i noticed a mother feeding a sparrow chick ,it wasn`t young as it had lost the yellow grin, is it very early, but there was only one,so perhaps she had an early brood and lost them in the cold and wet,

Also i saw some swallows last week any body else spotted any yet :cnfs:

Lovely flutterbys every. Now I'm hardly seeing any mostly Whites and little moth-like things ... I have spotted a few Clouded Yellows from afar.

    This is cute ...

    Hello there ...
