Within the international community Rishi has the confidence of the financial sector, not just Biden, and Boris has none. We need that confidence to get the pound moving upwards again. If Boris became PM they would turn their backs on us. We need something to counteract the disaster that was Liz the Robot!

Anyone who is heavier invested in, say, US stocks, will benefit from a temporary crash of the pound, as they'll get more pounds per dollar of shares if they sell up. Of course once they've had that benefit, it would be beneficial if the value of the pound went back up again.

If Bojo gets the job he could be out in a few weeks once the Commons Privileges Committee makes their report.

Boris and Rishi meet to evaluate the best candidate:

Boris: "Damn immigrant. Here to steal my job?"

Rishi: "someone sane has to be there to announce the clowns"

          Boris: "..."
          Rishi "..."

Rishi: "I hate your face, but together, apes strong. Wanna team up?"

Boris: "Well there still is some place left in my clown cabinet"

And thus, the double leadership of UK was announced with two PMs to lead the way....

So Bojo has seen sense and is not standing. So Rishi should be PM tomorrow afternoon.

Rishi was born in this country and Boris wasn't :heehee:

              Couldn't get enough nominations.

Bojo supporters may may move to Penny. We shall soon know.

              Rishi is now Prime Minister.

Let's hope he can get some semblance of order into the financial status of the country and get the party working with him.

I don't know whether to be pleased or not.
I certainly don't think anything good will be coming our way any time soon.

They're saying in the news that the pound 'rallied' this morning and is now stabilised.

It's where it was in 1985, which in my lifetime so far, was about the darkest point in terms of the UK economy, when news was full of phrases like negative equity, mass unemployment, bankruptcy and repossessions and other such joyful terms.

If the pound was to rise the news would be all about how hard it is to sell our stuff abroad.

                  It happens every time.

And you can bet there would never be any mention of petrol going down in price because the pound was good.

They tell us only what they want us to know.

I find it annoying that the opposition parties all keep claiming there should be a general election.
They Know that isn't how it works and if any of them were in power they would do the same.

So Shut up and get over it.

This is the kind of thing that needs to be got rid of in politics, just keep on sniping with no real opposition.
