We're already an international joke, can you imagine anyone ever respecting the country again if Boris comes back? Not only that but we'd have whizzed away months and months of time where actual running if the country could have been done!

Penny's thrown her hat in the ring. They'll never let her in the door

I dont know anything about this Penny Morden, she's an unknown quantity as far as I'm concerned just like Liz Truss was.

She has been a high-profile cabinet minister for eight years now. She was the Minister of Defense for a spell and is now Leader of the House of Commons.

So why have I never heard of her until Boris resigned.
She maybe ok but can't say as she has been high profile until now.

I can't remember when we haven't thought of ourselves as an international joke.
Most of my life someone somewhere has used that description of us, mostly from within.
Not good just now I must admit .

I have to say I have heard of Penny Mordaunt but only because she's often on our local news was the MP for nearby Portsmouth.

Has anyone heard of Helen Whately.
She is my MP but rarely does she seem to do much.

I am not bothered if other countries don't respect us, there are not many that I respect either, maybe a few of the commonwealth countries like Oz, NZ, Canada etc are ok. It's always been the case countries try and put each other down.

If things were so bad I wonder why half a million migrants arrive each year and 10s of thousands risk their lifes in flimsy boats when they could just as easily stay in an European country?

Wouldn't it be nice to sack all MPs and councillors and reset the whole thing?

You mean make them all redundant and pay them off, then reemploy them all on higher wages.

I've never understood why the bloke in the street can get sacked but people in high powered jobs only get asked to resign.:roflol:
