    ohhh

I m hoping the garden centres will be open tomorrow, I definitely want to get one, if it cant stay outside I will find her a nice place inside!! :)

Since there are a lot of varieties of Sanseveria can any one name this particular one? Or is it Sanseveria without any other second name?

Its sanseveria "laurentii" I believe, its the commonest one.
Its an interesting plant, it can be grown from cutting a leaf in sections and rooting them in gritty compost, the resulting plants will just be green and lack the yellow edge to the leaves.
To get plants with the yellow edge you need to divide an existing plant taking the roots with it.

There are one or two other cultivars that are commonly avilable in Garden Centres these days, but I still think this is the best one.

Hi Pete, thanks for your reply, I will try and grow a new one from the roots, but I ll leave it for a while.

In the meantime here is what I bagged today, nowhere near as big as the one in the original post picture but since if for indoor use is not too bad.

I have one I would gladly give away.........I really have gone off house plants for some reason! The Parla Palm I have stuck outside to take its chances during the summer, apart from that I have an Easter Cacti and a Cheese plant called Fred and I take no interest in them whatsoever except to give them a drink every few weeks or so. They seem to thrive on neglect!

Googling USDA brings up the US dept of Agriculture, their hardiness map for N America eventually comes to light, but can't see any sign of similar map for the UK, any pointers?

We do too - it was sharp and spikey :D

We had one for about 40 years but eventually got fed up with it and gave it away. It was about the size in the first picture :)
