Sorry to be negative but it doesn't look like cornflower to me. It seems rather unusual to be nigella if it is only 9" high unless there are lots of plants there - and your first post implies it is one plant . Nigella initially grows in quite an upright fashion and wouldn't be bushy at that height.

Keep trying to get a clearer photo for us. :thumb: :)

thanks marley farley, someone else has just mentioned the cosmos plant to me also. could you also tell me how to get a clearer/better pic up on here?

shiney, you are right apparently there are several plants here together, to me the very ammature gardener it looked just like one plant growing so i presumed it was just the one. that is all i have been able to confirm, still not got a definate ID on them though :(

    cheers, bluevest.

Hi blue, do you have a "macro" button on your camera for close up shots as that would give you a clearer photo, or save your photos to Photobucket & upload them to there you can resize them to 800x600 automatically as they load, then when you post your photos in a post they are there full size.. Like this cosmos plant here..
[IMG] We have a thread on how to do photos on here blue.. Have a look here.. http://www.gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/posting-pictures-in-this-forum-t27399.html

99.99% certain it's Cosmos now that we know it's a few plants together. Until then I would've said Fennel by glimpsing at the original photograph :dh:
